My name is Jonathan Douglas, I’m a Licensed Mental Health Counselor(LMHC) in the state of WA, and actively pursuing licensure in the state of California. I have had the opportunity to work in a variety of behavioral healthcare settings for non-profit organizations as well as working in the private practice setting. A major focus of my work has been on managing individuals in crisis, having experienced a variety of traumatic experiences, developing healthy coping skills to manage anxiety and depression, and reducing overall lifestress.

I have a Master’s Degree from Central Washington University in Mental Health Counseling and was also trained as a School Counselor. My Bachelor's Degree is in Psychology, with a Minor in Ethnic Studies also from Central Washington University. Go Wildcats! I have been trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which integrates aspects of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), And have a foundational understanding of the role that trauma plays in the presentation of a variety of mental health concerns. I take pride in offering a trauma-informed approach and recognize the importance of acknowledging the role of culturally relevant factors that may exacerbate current life stressors.

I have been blessed to have been working in behavioral health for over 15 years. I have had the opportunity to provide care to youth in foster care,in addition to those needing psychiatric residential treatment. My time working in a sub-acute detox setting provided the opportunity to learn about and treat co-occurring disorders. My time as a therapist was split between immediately after graduate school at a community mental health agency, and most recently inthe private practice setting. The time spent in between was providing direct crisis care and involuntary hospitalization evaluations, in addition to providing case management for the underserved and justice-involved population.

Through my variety of experiences, I continue to feel encouraged and motivated to provide care to individuals to help manage life stressors. I’m honored to be considered your therapist, and I humbly look forward to working with you through this therapeutic journey.
