Seimy Briones has experience working with teens and younger adults from different populations and cultural backgrounds who are going through difficult life changes such as independence exploration, career path discovery, relationship issues, anxiety, depression, and trauma.

She believes healing takes place in a safe and supportive environment where individuals can be their true selves. The way she does therapy is based on the value of learning “Once we learn something you can’t unlearn it”, and growth “by learning what skills you have or want to learn to become your true self”. She believes that to grow in life, we need to be vulnerable and honest with ourselves about our needs and wants. She loves to empower her clients by exploring their strengths and using those skills as a “superpower” to feel in control of their lives.

Her main approach is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) which is based on helping her clients explore behavioral and thinking patterns that are causing anxiety, depression, or any mental health issue. Some of the work you can do together based on CBT could look like facing your fears instead of avoiding them, learning coping and grounding skills to calm your body/mind, learning distortions in thinking that are creating issues, learning problem-solving skills to cope with stressful situations, and learning how to develop self-confidence in one’s abilities.
