Prepare for your Riverside interview with simple steps for better audio, video, and a smooth session.

If you’ve been invited to record a session with Ruston Therapy Group, a bit of preparation goes a long way. We use Riverside to capture high-quality audio and video directly from your device. The steps below will help ensure a smooth experience and a clear, professional recording.
Join from a computer
For the most reliable performance, please use Chrome or Edge on a laptop or desktop. Mobile devices are not recommended.
Choose a quiet, well-lit space
Select a setting with minimal background noise and good natural or front-facing light. Avoid sitting with a bright window or light source behind you.
Use headphones when possible
Headphones reduce echo and improve overall audio clarity.
Position your camera thoughtfully
Place your camera at eye level and frame yourself from mid-chest upward. This creates a more natural, conversational presence.
Check your internet connection
A strong Wi-Fi connection is typically sufficient. If available, a wired connection can provide added stability.
Join a few minutes early
Logging in early allows time to confirm your camera and microphone settings before we begin.
Keep it natural
There’s no need to be perfect. If you’d like to rephrase something, simply pause and continue—we can edit as needed.
Limit distractions
Silence notifications on your devices to avoid interruptions during the session.
Remain on the call briefly
Once we finish, please stay connected for a minute or two. Riverside uploads your audio and video locally after the session ends, and leaving too quickly can interrupt that process.
If you have any questions before your session, feel free to reach out. We’re happy to help you get set up.
If you’d like a sense of how these sessions come together, you can watch a few recent interviews below. Each was recorded remotely using Riverside with guests following the same guidelines outlined above.
These examples reflect the quality you can expect with a simple setup and a few minutes of preparation.
